AC/DC‘s Angus and Malcolm Young have earned their first No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hard Rock Songwriters chart, with two of the songs written by them for their Power Up record moving higher on the list.
“Shot in the Dark,” which spent six weeks at No. 1, ranks third on the list dated Jan. 30, while “Realize” re-enters at No. 12 after reaching No. 4 in November. Power Up debuted atop the Billboard 200 in November.
Angus and Malcolm Young founded the AC/DC band. Malcolm, who retired from the band in 2014, passed away in 2017 after battling dementia. The brothers are credited as co-writers on all 12 tracks on Power Up.
The weekly Hard Rock Songwriters chart is based on total points accrued by a songwriter for each attributed song that appears on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart.
