Alex is a contestant on Celebrity Catchphrase tonight at 7.30pm on ITV. The show, presented by host Stephen Mulhern, sees guests attempt to identify the correct catchphrase from the animated clues. Alex will feature alongside Sarah-Jane Crawford and Joe Absolom with each contestant attempting to ‘say what they see’.
The winner could get the chance to win a £50,000 jackpot for their chosen charity.
Alex, who is best known for being the weatherman on Good Morning Britain, propelled himself to the front pages earlier this year when he clashed with Piers live on air the day the host quit the ITV programme.
Alex and Piers had a spectacular falling out after the GMB anchor insisted he didn’t believe Meghan Markle’s mental health claims which she made in an interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The weatherman challenged Piers, which led to the broadcaster storming off the show.

As Piers walked out, Alex was heard saying: “This is pathetic. Absolutely diabolical behaviour.”
Yet, before the pair’s infamous falling out, there was already tensions on the show, after Piers mocked a “simmering” Alex for complaining about a lack of weather reports.
In December 2019, Alex was laughed at by Piers for complaining over his lack of weather reports during the two and a half-hour-long programme.
Susanna Reid and Piers said Alex was on to do the weather, however, when it cut to the weatherman he revealed this was not the case and subsequently handed it over to Andi Peters who had the latest GMB competition.
When the show returned to the studio, a laughing Piers revealed that all was not right.
Piers mocked his co-star for erupting “like a volcano” at not being able to report the weather.
He said: “Sorry, it’s just very funny. Alex Beresford…”
Susanna interjected: “He’s wondering why he came in this week frankly.”

Alex was particularly prickly after a different weather reporter had given the latest updates to viewers that day, while he also protested that he had just one report the day before.
Alex said: “What, I only got one weather forecast yesterday, I just got dropped now I’m back in.
“I’m up and down like a yo-yo.”
Piers then said: “Literally, he’s just been simmering like a volcano and when we finally told him you can do some weather he was like ‘Oh my God, for God’s sake.’”
Susanna then protested on behalf of the weatherman, and said: “In his defence, people do quite like to have a weather forecast.”
Alex slyly quipped that viewers “didn’t just tune in for Piers” and then told the hosts that it was not time for the weather.
Alex and Piers reignited their tension in March this year after Prince Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Two months after Piers’ infamous GMB departure he opened up to the Daily Mail about his on-air clash with Alex.
He said: “I thought it got too personal. Alex is the stand-in weather guy. He is not even the full-time guy.
“He is a guy I have helped a lot in his career, given him help and advice, and I just thought, I am not going to take this very personal take-down from him, from one of my own team.”
Piers later claimed that Alex was the only one of the GMB staff to not wish him well after his departure.
