The Chase: Anne Hegerty quips she won’t take player ‘home’
Anne Hegerty, 62, has lashed out at The Chasers Road Trip bosses after editors tried to portray her checking out co-star Mark Labbett, 55, in his swimming trunks. The three-part series sees Anne, Mark and Shaun Wallace discover if they are really “as smart” as they think they are by going up against challenges like no other, but she quickly shut down rumours of a love affair with The Beast as she “does not do younger men”.
Editors are wicked. Producers just like to do that sort of thing

Anne, who is also godmother to Mark’s four-year-old son, cursed the scene which was filmed in Miami, and branded the editors “wicked” for the deception.
“Let’s not go there. I always say we’re not each other’s type and I don’t do younger men,” she said, addressing the clip in a recent interview.
“I just looked over my shoulder at the sea and they cut in an image of Mark coming out.
“Mark was not actually doing that at that time. Editors are wicked. Producers just like to do that sort of thing.”

Although untrue, she did admit the debacle made her laugh as she rolled her eyes when it aired on ITV.
“I thought, ‘For God sake, now everyone’s going to think I have a crush on Mark,'” she giggled.
But The Beast wasn’t the only Chaser flashing his goods on their America trip.
“I didn’t notice Shaun’s budgie smugglers!” Anne exclaimed, as Shaun ‘The Dark Destroyer’ Wallace walked around in tight shorts, showing off his prominant buldge.
She said of the trim 60-year-old: “I suppose I’m just used to not looking at the boys.
“I wasn’t aware of it until everyone started pointing it out.”
Anne also added that she believes the cast will probably have become unlikely sex symbols for some viewers, after making their debut on TV back in 2009.
“We probably are all somebody’s weird crush somewhere, I would expect,” she joked in her interview with The Sun.

But she previously opened up on her autism and how it affects her relationships with other people.
The 62-year-old admitted that she struggles with romance and said that finding love “doesn’t feel like something that’s necessary”.
The Chaser also spoke out on her condition known as Prosopagnosia, also known as face blindness, and revealed that the cognitive disorder has left her struggling to recognise family members.
She confessed that at one time, she only vaguely recognised her stepmother after passing her while walking down a street.
“One of the things that quite often goes along with autism is Prosopagnosia, face blindness… there was an occasion where I was walking down the street and there was this woman who was vaguely familiar, I couldn’t place her,” Anne recalled.
“Hours later I remembered she was my stepmother! That can be embarrassing.”
THE Chasers Road Trip: Trains, Brains and Automobiles airs Thursday at 9pm and is also available on ITV Hub.
