Louise Minchin, 53, has asked for the public’s support to keep her former co-worker Strictly Come Dancing’s Dan Walker, 44, on the show. Dan and his partner Nadiya Bychkova danced to the song Classic by MKTO but Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke were a little sceptical about his routine.

That looked like fun.

Louise posted in view of her 229,100 Twitter followers her view on Dan’s performance.

She said: “That looked like fun, but I think Mr Walker might need our votes tonight…”.

Louise was responding to Dan’s original post, asking for the public vote.

He said: “Thanks for all the lovely comments and support.

“All votes welcome.”

Louise’s post was filled with comments with Strictly fans adding their view on Dan’s performance.

White_Dove said: “Yes, he, along with others are a bit average as much as I like him.

“He’s just not got that natural look about him.”

Supermo999 added: “Think you could be correct Louise but he has done well till now.”

Dan and Nadiya’s Couple’s Choice received mixed reviews, with the dance accumulating a total of 28 out of a possible 40.

Pleased head judge Shirley Ballas had given them an eight, whereas the rest of the panel scored lower, with Dan thanking her tremendously.

Dan was not at the bottom of the leaderboard however due to Adam Peaty and Katya Jones scoring 27 points.

Whilst talking to Claudia Winkleman when waiting for the judges’ scores Dan complained about a strange pain after rehearsals.

Claudia asked: “You were very excited to have a go at lifts, weren’t you?”

Dan replied: “Yes, I really enjoyed the lifts.

“I’ve got to say… bit of a Strictly insight: my right bum cheek has suffered this week with all the lifting.

“I’ve got about three metres of physio tape on it at the minute – no hair left on there either. I think… Too much?”

Claudia replied: “I will say yeah, there was a line and we bounced right over it!”

AJ Odudu and partner Kai Widdrington finished at the top of the leaderboard with 39 points, while Tom Fletcher and Amy Dowden bounced back this week with a high score of 39.

You can catch the results show tomorrow night at 7.15pm on BBC One.
