Alex Jones, 44, has responded to her worried Instagram followers today as they questioned her absence from the site. The One Show host admitted she has been very busy and has not had any time to herself since welcoming her third child, Annie.

Alex took her car to be washed today and said: “I just thought I would say hi because a few of you have been asking, ‘Are you okay?’

“Maybe I’ve been a bit quiet on here, I’ve just got five minutes to myself, look, I’m in the car wash. That’s what it takes these days. Happy Friday and happy weekend,” she added.

Her last Instagram post was back on November 4 when she shared a photo of her with The One Show Surprise Squad.

She typed: “Did some filming for @bbccin earlier today and got to meet our fantastic @bbctheoneshow #surprisesquad five incredible young adults who have been through more than most of us can imagine but who are still committed to helping other young people who may be going through tough times.

“I spoke at length to Nathan and had to bite the inside of my cheek so hard to stop the tears.

“He is one brave young man and you can hear his story on the One Show in the next few days. Annie was also with me and got to meet the main bear himself Pudsey.

“I squeezed her just a little bit tighter on the way home having heard their stories.”

The presenter returned to The One Show last month after going on maternity leave for the birth of her third child.

Alex gave birth to her daughter just over two weeks later on Saturday, August 21, at the Queen Charlotte Hospital in London.

For the 44-year-old, this was her first daughter, as she had previously welcomed sons Teddy, four, and Kit, two, with husband Charlie Thomson.

The One Show star is also excited to “bring heart-warming stories to life” in the new BBC show Reunion Hotel.

The six-part series will feature guests reconnecting with people who played a major role in their lives; from romantic reunions, giving thanks to life-saving heroes, and to the ex-pupil reuniting with the teacher who changed his life.

Alex will be welcoming guests at the hotel in north-east Wales and putting them at ease ahead of the meeting they may have waited years, or even a lifetime, for.

“To be able to play an integral part in the reunion of lost friendships, family members and past loves is very exciting,” she said.

“I’m so looking forward to checking into the hotel to help bring these heartwarming stories to life, and helping the guests reconnect with a piece of their lives they thought had been lost.”

Each episode of the new BBC Two and BBC Wales show will be based in the Welsh hotel, as guests get the chance to say the things they’ve always wanted to.

BBC Wales’ head of content commissioning, Nick Andrews, said: “The Reunion Hotel is all about reconnecting people with someone significant from their past, a truly emotional experience for all involved.

“This commission with BBC Two will showcase and reflect Wales to audiences across the UK and beyond.”

Reunion Hotel is based on the series Gwesty Aduniad, originally developed and produced for S4C.

The series, which will air in early 2023, will be the fourth BBC Factual and BBC Nations co-commission as part of the new strategy reflecting the Across the UK plan, outlined by BBC director-general Tim Davie earlier this year.
