Social media users are ‘grossed out’ to find out that the ‘Formation’ singer is an apparent supporter of the comedian, who recently landed in hot water for his transphobic remarks in Netflix’s ‘The Closer’.
AceShowbiz – Beyonce Knowles‘ alliance to the LGBTQ+ community is being put in question following her recent outing. The R&B diva and her husband Jay-Z were spotted at Dave Chappelle‘s comedy show where he was attacked onstage.
On Tuesday night, May 3, the pair were spotted leaving the Hollywood Bowl where the show was held. Apparently trying to go incognito, Bey dressed in an all-black outfit that consisted of a black oversized jacket and leggings. Her face was mostly covered behind her sunglasses and a black face mask.
Jay-Z also went low-key that night, dressing down in a black sweater and pants in matching color. He also wore a black baseball cap as he sported thin facial hair.
Following the couple’s sighting at the event, many social media users expressed their rage at Bey’s apparent support for Dave, who has been accused of transphobia. “I ain’t gone hold you, as a fan of hers, this was my first thought. What I’ve learned is these celebs REALLY don’t care, if you wanna see how they really feel, if they’re really an ally, look at what they’re doing when they aren’t making money from being ‘socially aware,’ ” one person weighed in on Twitter.
Another stated, “Grossed out about Beyonce attending a Dave Chapelle show. He’s a violent transphobe..” A third remarked, “Beyonce was at the show supporting a transphobic comedian. Keep that in mind.”
“Beyonce was at a transphobic n homophobic man’s show. Supporting him? So where do we go from here?” another was left in disbelief. A fifth was equally baffled as writing, “you was laughing at them transphobic jokes @Beyonce ???” Someone else called out the former Destiny’s Child member, “Beyonce skipped the Met Gala but attended a transphobic Dave Chapelle show. She’s a flop.”
Some others, however, have come to Beys defense. “She’s allowed to enjoy her life and have her own sense of humor,” one supporter argued. Another slammed the seemingly biased critics, “These demonic ppl will always have more smoke for women than the actual men that kill them. They can’t cancel Dave Chapelle, so let’s go after Beyonce. Beyonce & Jay-Z attended the show but they’re only mad at Beyonce smh lol.”
Bey and Jay-Z were actually not the only celebrities attending Dave’s show. Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Madonna, Christina Milian, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs and Elon Musk were among other famous faces seen at the show.
