Billie Eilish has shared “Your Power,” a new single from her upcoming and highly anticipated album, Happier Than Ever.
“Your Power” is accompanied with a self-directed music video, which is set in California’s Simi Valley and features an anaconda.
In an all-lowercase statement accompanying the song, Eilish wrote, “this is one of my favorite songs i’ve ever written. i feel very vulnerable putting this one out because i hold it so close to my heart. this is about many different situations that we’ve all either witnessed or experienced. i hope this can inspire change. try not to abuse your power.”
“Try not to abuse your power / I know we didn’t choose to change / You might not wanna lose your power / But having it’s so strange,” the lyrics go.
After months of teasing her fans, the “Bad Guy” singer recently announced that her sophomore album, Happier Than Ever, will drop on July 30.
“This is my favorite thing I’ve ever created and I am so excited and nervous and EAGER for you to hear it,” Eilish said about the new album. “I can’t even tell you. I’ve never felt so much love for a project than i do for this one. Hope you feel what i feel.”
The 16-track record will be the Grammy-winning alt-pop superstar’s second full-length album after 2019’s When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?
Happier Than Ever was written by Eilish and her brother Finneas, who also produced the LP. The album will also include Eilish’s recent singles “my future” and “Therefore I Am.”
