Blake Shelton Seeks To Recreate Live Experience In ‘Minimum Wage’ Video

A video shared by Blake Shelton on Monday (February 15) for his latest single “Minimum Wage” shows him trying to recreate the experience of watching live concerts.

Gwen Stefani‘s brother Todd Stefani shot the visual that shows Blake and his band performing at a club packed with fans.

Blake is quoted as saying that the clip was shot at Ole Red in Tishomingo, where there were several COVID protocols in place, such as testing, temperature checks, and social distancing.

“Every time the camera stopped rolling, someone would yell, ‘Masks up!’ There’s a lot of camera magic happening too because it looks like the place was packed,” Blake told CMT.

The singer added that “Minimum Wage” has “such great tempo, and I can’t wait to be able to get back out on the road and play it for fans. So I felt really strongly that the music video needed to be a live performance with the crowd having fun!”

“What I hope people take away from the video is that live show feel. That sense of fun and community we have out there on the road,” he continued. “I’m ready to play shows, I’m ready to go see shows, and I know music fans everywhere are, too.”

The song, which is Shelton’s first for the year, is likely to be included in a new studio album.
