Bob Dylan’s New Recording Of ‘Blowin’ In Whe Wind’ Headed To Auction

Bob Dylan‘s first new studio recording of “Blowin’ in the Wind” since 1962 is heading to auction.

The special version of Dylan’s 1962 classic was recorded by multi-Grammy winning producer T Bone Burnett using Ionic Original, a new analog format he developed.

Burnett notes that the technology used to create the Ionic Original disc “advances the art of recorded sound and marks the first breakthrough in analog sound reproduction in more than 70 years, achieving dramatic improvements in listening experience and durability.”

Christie’s will auction the only copy of the new studio recording on July 7 as a highlight within Classic Week London.

It is estimated to fetch £600,000-1,000,000, or $752,823-$1,254,930).

Exclusive in-person listening experiences of the “Blowin’ In The Wind” Ionic Original will take place in advance of the auction: by-appointment in Los Angeles on June 8 and in New York on June 15 and as part of the public pre-sale exhibition in London during July 2-7.

2022 marks Bob Dylan’s 60th anniversary as a recording artist.
