Britney Spears, 40, sparked speculation after revealing that there was a “new addition” to her family. In a cryptic Instagram post, the pop icon asked her followers to guess whether the new family member was a boy or a girl.
A video shared with her 37.7 million followers shows Britney facing away from the camera as she cradles and bottle feeds the mysterious new arrival.
The clip also gives a glimpse of Britney’s home, which currently features a huge Christmas tree and ample windows.
The post included a nod to the singer’s fiancé, Sam Asghari, 27.
As the caption, Britney wrote: “New addition to the family.
“Guess if it’s a boy or a girl.”
Britney added: “Thank you again baby @samasghari !!!!”
Fans swiftly took to the post’s comments section to discuss who the new addition could be.
gealaman enquired: “Its a Baby dog????”
red_otaku21 chimed in: “OMGGG YOURE PREGNANT.”
ryinskott wrote: “Queen of feeding air.”
ashliegh_xo asked: “Is it a piggy???”
fionatopia typed: “That has to be a kitten or puppy haha.”
Britney’s fans were recently sent into a frenzy after a judge terminated the arrangement of a conservator, who was her father Jamie, controlling every aspect of the pop star’s life.
The conservatorship included her personal affairs, career decisions, and finances.

But despite the ruling, Britney took to her Instagram to express her hopes that those responsible for her conservatorship are punished.
“Honestly it still blows my mind every day I wake up how my family and the conservatorship were able to do what they did to me… It was demoralizing and degrading,” Britney claimed.
“I’m not even mentioning all the bad things they did to me which they should all be in jail for … yes including my church going mother!”
Britney went on to say she has tried to keep the “peace” in the family by not speaking out.
However, she highlighted she has “not forgotten” and hopes that her family “can look up tonight and know EXACTLY WHAT I MEAN!”
“I’m used to keeping peace for the family and keeping my mouth shut … but not this time,” she added.
Jamie Spears previously issued a statement via his attorney, Vivian Thoreen after being ousted from his daughter’s conservatorship.
The conclusion of the lengthy statement, given in September, said: “Despite the suspension, Mr. Spears will continue to look out for the best interests of his daughter and work in good faith towards a positive resolution of all matters.”
