Britney Spears two teenage sons will not attend her wedding to Sam Asghari

Britney Spears' two sons are not going to attend her wedding to Sam Asghari, according to the boys' father.

The singer, 40, is reportedly marrying Sam, 28, in a surprise wedding on 9 June in her Los Angeles home in front of as many as 100 friends, but her children will not be in attendance for their mother's big day.

Speaking to TMZ, the attorney of Kevin Federline said that the boys, 16-year-old Sean Preston and 15-year-old Jayden James, will "not be in attendance."

But the singer still has support from her children and her former partner, with the attorney adding: "Kevin and the boys are happy for Britney and wish her and Sam all the best going forward."

This will be the star's third wedding, after previously tying the knot with childhood friend Jason Alexander for 55 hours in January 2004, before marrying Kevin later that year – but the pair split in 2007.

It is believed that Britney's brother Bryan has been invited to the ceremony, but not her father Jamie, mother Lynne, or sister Jamie Lynn.

Her relationship with her family is decidedly strained after her years of the singer being under a conservatorship controlled by her father, with the conservatorship formally terminated in November 2021.

Britney and Sam got engaged in September 2021, with the pair announcing the exciting news on the singer's Instagram page.

The singer caption the clip saying "I can't f****** believe it!!!!!!" as she showed off the ring in the video.

Since the engagement, Britney has dropped several hints over the past few months that a wedding was on the cards in the near future.

She has revealed that Versace is the mastermind behind her wedding outfit, and even shared a photo of her wedding veil along with her pet cat, Wendy, on top of several layers of tulle.

The news of a reported surprise wedding comes just weeks after the couple shared the tragic news that she has had a miscarriage.

The singer posted on social media confirming they had lost the baby, writing: "It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy.

"This is a devastating time for any parent. Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along, however we were overly excited to share the good news."

The two met on the set of the music video for her track Slumber Party, and started dating shortly after.
