Brookside star devastated after split from football manager husband Karl Robinson

Ann Marie Davies, who played Katrina Evans in Brookside, has "told friends of her heartache after splitting from her football manager husband Karl Robinson", according to the Mail Online.

The publication reported that the 47-year-old actress is 'devastated' after she and Karl separated "seven months ago."

Ann Marie and Karl married 13 years ago and share a 17 year old daughter Jasmine.

While, Ann Marie declined to comment on the split, she told the Mail: "I am going through a divorce at the moment. It’s been a very challenging time for myself and my family."

The actress played the part of Katrina for 13 years in the soap and met Karl, when he was a footballer at a local side.

Karl became the football league's youngest ever manager at 29 in 2010 for Milton Keynes Dons. He continued his career as manager at other teams before making the move to Oxford United in 2018. He was sacked as manager back in February this year.

Ann Marie previously opened up about her decision to move from her home county of Merseyside to Milton Keynes to be with her husband.

She told the Liverpool Echo in 2012: "It was a decision I made to keep the family together. I was practically a single parent and it’s difficult. I was juggling motherhood with my own career but it was difficult for him to travel back and forth.

“But 12 months on I’m really enjoying it," she added. "I have settled in, as has our daughter Jasmine; I have met new friends and, of course, I’m proud to be able to support Karl. I like being a football manager’s wife!”

Yesterday Ann Marie shared a cryptic quote on Instagram Stories, which said: "Stay close to those who gives peace to your soul."
