Former Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan penned a heartfelt post on Twitter. The heartbreaking tribute comes after the death of cricketer Bob Willis, who died aged 70.
The former England captain died after a battle with prostate cancer in 2019.
Piers, 55, reacted to a touching tribute that was broadcast on Sky Sports in memory of the legendary sportsman.
During the One Day International cricket game between England and Pakistan, a tribute to Bob was aired.
The 55-year-old retweeted the clip as he honoured Bob’s “unique character”.
The ex-GMB host admitted the memorial video brought tears to his eyes.
Taking to the micro-blogging site, Piers shared the video which was captioned: “#BlueForBob Edgbaston will turn blue at #ENGvPAK today to remember the late, great Bob Willis & raise awareness of prostate cancer research. For more info follow @bobwillisfund.”
In view of his 7.9 million followers, Piers penned: “Wonderful tribute to a truly unique character. Brought a tear to my eye. RIP Bob.”
Fans flocked to comment on the post, as one said: “I grew up watching Mr Willis playing cricket – what an absolute legend. So sad, so tragic. RIP Sir. Thank you for your services to cricket.”
Another commented: “Totally agree Piers. Great guy RIP Bob.”
“RIP Bob – Bob was a great one,” a third added, while another commented: “Totally agree.”
The tearful clip began with the announcement that Bob had sadly lost his battle with prostate cancer.
His wife Lauren Clark shared details about her late husband’s diagnosis.

“He went to the doctor and had a PSA test. He was advised to go and see a urologist.”
Lauren explained that they received his results and over three months later Bob was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer.
The video featured close friends and colleagues who shared emotional anecdotes of their time with Bob before his death.
The pace bowler made 90 Test match appearances for his country and took 325 wickets, placing him fourth in the all-time list of England bowlers.
He famously played a key part in the memorable 1981 third Test defeat of Australia at Headingley that was won from a seemingly impossible position, taking a career-best 8-43.
Bob enjoyed a long career in broadcasting after his retirement in 1984, first for the BBC and then latterly on Sky.
At the time of his death, his family said in a statement: “We are heartbroken to lose our beloved Bob, who was an incredible husband, father, brother and grandfather. He made a huge impact on everybody he knew and we will miss him terribly.”
“Bob is survived by his wife Lauren, daughter Katie, brother David and sister Ann.”
