BBC Breakfast weather host Carol Kirkwood reacted to her colleague Sally Bundock who revealed she had to be “carted off” a mountain after an accident on holiday with her family. The news broadcaster took to the micro-blogging site and shared a series of pictures of her injury as she returned to her normal work duties on Monday.
But it was the photo of her leg in a brace that caught the attention of meteorologist Carol, 59, who offered her sympathy to her colleague.
Sally, 50, took to Twitter and shared a photo of herself in the BBC studios as she prepped for her live broadcast.
She could be seen wearing a smart blazer which she teamed with a pair of jeans and trainers.
The journalist also sported a leg brace in the candid photo.
In view of her 39,300 followers, Sally captioned the post: “I’m not headed to the ‘catwalk’ this morning… #legbrace #skiaccident.”
Carol took the opportunity to repost the tweet in view of her 217,000 followers.
She replied: “[Shock face emoji] Oh Sal…xxx.”
The news comes after Sally took to social media on February 23 and revealed the extent of injuries following an accident on the slopes.
The broadcaster explained that she had been abroad with her family when the incident took place.
She shared an image of her leg following the accident and another snap where she could be seen with a crutch.
Sally penned: “When I return to work Monday I’ll be sporting an attractive leg brace.
“Skiing with the family and busted my knee. Was carted off the mountain in a very dramatic style. Thanks to all the medics in @valdisere who were amazing.

The BBC broadcaster was inundated with messages as social media users wished her a speedy recovery.
Rich Preston commented: “Oh no! Glad to hear you’re ok…hope it wasn’t/isn’t too painful!”
Peter McLoughlin remarked: “Oh dear Sally – surely not on day 1 of the holiday? Ski resorts are notoriously boring when one is not able to take to the slopes! Wishing you a quick recovery.”
Kate Bevan added: “Oh no! OUCH.”
In a follow-up post, Sally assured Twitter users that she was recovering and resting back at the hotel.
She penned: “Thanks for all the well wishes.
“I have a room with a lovely view, so not a bad place to stay still for a couple of days. I rarely #staystill.”
