Carol Vorderman, 60, was brimming with joy last night as she reunited with her brother after two years apart due to the coronavirus pandemic. The former Countdown star and her brother, Anton, attended the Wales vs Fiji rugby match together in Cardiff.

Carol took to her Twitter today to share some photographs of her outing with her more than 475,000 followers.

She penned: “Just such a lovely day with my brother Anton (haven’t seen him for 2 years cos he’s living abroad…covid)…..

“We sat behind a row of daffodils at the game.

“@WelshRugbyUnion vs @fijirugby…a happy day.”

The post featured a photo of herself smiling next to her brother, alongside another selfie from the crowd.

Carol also included a snap of the pitch from where the pair were sitting – behind a group of people wearing daffodil hats.

She also added a screenshot of the final score posted on the Welsh Rugby Union’s Instagram stories.

Fans of the TV star were delighted to see her long-awaited reunion.

Carol gave her fans an insight into her and Anton’s childhood as she wrote a heartfelt caption thanking Liverpool for “all of the love given” to her and her loved ones.

In view of her 186,000 Instagram followers, she wrote: “At the @titanichotelliverpool for the first ever event for Football For Change @ftblforchange which is going to be a cracking event.

“The charity raises money to help underprivileged kids and does fantastic work.

“I grew up not far away in a single parent family in poverty in the 60s.

“My brother Anton was born with a severe cleft lip and palate and used to come to @alderhey Hospital for operations here on the train with my Mum. He had 24 operations in total through his life.

“I was rushed here as a toddler too for a life saving operation…@alderhey.

“So am eternally grateful to this great city for all of the love given to us.” (sic)

She signed off the message with the hashtag “Liverpool” and a series of emoijs.

The candid post racked up more than 4,900 likes.
