Charlotte Crosby has taken a swipe at ex boyfriend Gaz Beadle as she questioned why he didn’t congratulate her on her pregnancy.
Former Geordie Shore co-stars Charlotte, 32, and Gaz, 34, had a rocky romance for years before calling it quits in 2016 – the same year Charlotte experienced a devastating ectopic pregnancy.
Back in April, Charlotte announced she was expecting her first child with boyfriend Jake Ankers. Meanwhile, Gaz is dad to children Chester, four, and Primrose, two, with wife Emma McVey.
Speaking on her podcast, Charlotte Crosby Always On, alongside pal Sophie Kasaei, the star said: “When he announced he was pregnant with Emma, right, I went straight onto Twitter and congratulated him. I thought, you know what, bygones be bygones.
“For me, that was really hard at the time. I hadn’t long had the ectopic pregnancy. I was dealing with a load of sad things. But where was my congratulations?”
Sophie, 32, said: “I don’t know, Charlotte. I really don’t know. After everything you went through, all that time together, one message to say, ‘Look Charlotte, congrats.’ I think it’s been left that long now, he just can’t.
“It’s a hard one because no matter what’s happened we’ve still got love for Gary. Even you Charlotte.”
Charlotte then added: “I’ve always said this, I don’t see why we can’t be civil. We’ve been through a lot. I don’t see why there can’t be no conversation. That’s why I can’t wrap my head around, he didn’t congratulate us on my pregnancy.”
Charlotte's comments divided opinions amongst fans after she posted the short clip from the podcast on Instagram.
Addressing the backlash, she wrote: "I've decided to disable the comments on my recent post! I was probably a little naïve to how much of a debate my comment would spark!
"And all opinions are totally and utterly welcome, but I did not want to spark any trolling or negative comments! The small part of the chat was just a clip from a larger conversation about all things geordie shore reunion.
"So hoping if you listen to the full thing you may get the context a little better."
Charlotte, who is expecting a baby girl, has been keeping her fans updated throughout her pregnancy journey.
Taking to Instagram, she complained that she was getting up in the night “64 times to wee” and “12 times to swap sides because of hip pain”.
She also said she’s suffering from vagina pain and explained how she’d nearly choked in her sleep due to an “intense heartburny sick” that had caused her to “wake up in fear”.
A source close to the star confirmed she’s not having a great time, telling OK! : “There’s just a few weeks until Charlotte’s due date and she’s starting to really feel it – she finds it so hard to get comfortable and is really struggling with heartburn.”
Charlotte showed fans she wasn’t in the best of moods on TikTok when she posted: “Pregnancy bump update. I am now ‘Get this f***ing baby out of me’ weeks pregnant. My main symptom is bitch.”
But despite all her gripes, Charlotte also hasn’t had that much time to think about the baby as she’s been so focused on her mum, Letitia, 53, who was diagnosed with breast cancer just weeks after Char discovered she was pregnant.
Our source said: “The second half of her pregnancy has flown by as she’s been so preoccupied by taking care of her mum – a lot of the time she’s forgotten she’s pregnant. Now it’s all starting to become real and friends are urging her to take some time for herself as life will get more chaotic once the baby arrives.”
