Chris Moyles is the latest celebrity to be signed up for this year’s I’m A Celebrity, according to reports.
The former BBC Radio DJ is said to have turned down producers of the show many times before but believes 2022 “feels like the right time.”
Speaking to The Sun, a source said: ““Chris is a huge signing for I’m A Celebrity and they have been trying to sign him for years.
“Previously he’s turned them down for a number of reasons but this year feels like the right time.
“Chris has signed up and is preparing himself mentally and physically to go Down Under.
“Fans of the show are in for a real treat and Chris has no doubt there will be some people who will be ringing to vote for him to do some of the gruelling trials.
“This a huge moment for him and he cannot wait to get stuck in.”
The news comes after it was revealed on Friday (7 October) that Loose Women favourite Charlene White would also be making her way down under for the highly-anticipated series.
A source called the newsreader a “great addition” to the camp thanks to her “strong opinions” and “personable” personality.
They told The Sun: “[She] will be good value around the Aussie campfire.
“They hope her journalistic background means she will eke out some illuminating conversations from her campmates, which shouldn’t be hard given some of the people she’ll be sleeping in a bunk next to."
Other rumoured celebrities include former Strictly star and comedian Seann Walsh, former Love Island star Olivia Attwood and Gogglebox favourite Babatunde Aleshe.
Last night, the show’s first teaser was released. In the short clip, a helicopter can be seen flying through the clouds as one of the show's presenters,Declan Donnelly , 46, can be heard saying: "Where is the luggage going?"
His presenting partnerAnt MacPartlin , 46, replies: "It's meeting us there," as a suitcase is thrown from the aircraft.
The clip then cuts to a shot of the suitcase plummeting to the ground as the plush green of the Australian jungle can be seen below and the show's famous theme tune starts to play.
The long-running programme had been set in Australia for 18 years up until the Covid-19 pandemic hit in 2020, when it was filmed at Gwrych Castle in Wales.
