Dan Walker has been wowing Strictly Come Dancing audiences with his partner Nadiya Bychkova over the past few weeks. However, in a new post, Dan admitted he does wish he’d been paired with new It Takes Two host Janette Manrara.
Dan and Nadiya were guests on It Takes Two last night where they shared some details about their upcoming movie week dance.
The pair will be dancing the Foxtrot to Once Upon A Dream by Seth MacFarlane.
Their routine will be inspired by the Disney film Sleeping Beauty.
However, ahead of the pair appearing on the show, Dan posted an Instagram video detailing his partner regret.
Both he and his partner Nadiya appeared in the short clip which saw them dressed to the nines.
Dan said: “We’re on with Janette Manrara.
“You’re obviously my favourite partner but I still love the idea of being with Janette.
“We could have been ‘Dan Rara’, it could have been incredible.”
Nadiya then warned him: “You’re not allowed to do tonight but maybe in the future, a Christmas special.”
“Alright, there’s a bit of a height issue but still,” quipped Dan in response.
This isn’t the first time Dan has opened up about wishing he’d been matched up with Janette on Strictly.
When he was first announced to be joining the show back in August, Dan admitted he was sad the star had left the main show.
Posting on Instagram at the time, he shared a picture of Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf from the Lord of the Rings, making a joke about their respective heights.
He penned: “Thank you for all your lovely messages about #Strictly.
“I’m looking forward to getting cracking and having a good laugh.
“It’s disappointing that @jmanrara has moved on to #ItTakesTwo because I feel we would have made a perfectly-sized couple @bbcstrictly.”
Janette then reacted to his post, admitting she had just “missed out” on their partnership.
She replied: “Oh Dan! I just missed out!
“Whomever it is will be one very lucky dancer!
“But I cannot wait to hear you say my last name when you come to sit down on the couch with me! #ItTakesTwo #Manrarararararararara.”(sic)
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday evening on BBC One.
