Critics Choice Awards Nominations: ‘Ozark’, ‘The Crown’ Lead TV Series Noms

The 26th annual Critics Choice Awards unveiled its series nominees on Monday with Netflix’s Ozark and The Crown leading the pack with six nominations each. Film nominees and the ceremony’s format will be revealed on  February 7. Taye Diggs is set to return as host for the third time and the winners will be revealed live on The CW on  March 7 at 7PM ET/PT.

Ozark and The Crown contribute to Netflix leading the nominations on the series side with 26 total noms. Both series are up for Best Drama while Ozark‘s Jason Bateman and Laura Linney received nominations for Best Actor in a Drama Series and Best Actress in a Drama Series respectively. Tom Pelphrey, Julia Garner, and Janet McTeer are all nominated for their supporting roles. The Crown’s Josh O’Connor is nominated for Best Actor in a Drama Series, while Olivia Colman and Emma Corrin are both nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series category. Tobias Menzies and Gillian Anderson also received recognition for their supporting roles.

“We are so thrilled to be celebrating the incredible work that was released during this extended season,” said Critics Choice Association CEO Joey Berlin. “In a year when the need for entertainment was undeniable, the industry rallied to deliver beautiful series that delighted us, educated us, challenged us, and most importantly, brought us all together.”

HBO and HBO Max tally 24 total nominations, coming in close behind Netflix. The premium cabler’s sci-fi series Lovecraft Country from Misha Green earned five nominations as did FX’s Mrs. America and What We Do In The Shadows. Pop’s big Emmy winner Schitt’s Creek also nabbed five nominations.

The 26th annual Critics Choice Awards show will be produced by Bob Bain Productions and Berlin Entertainment.  The CCA is represented by Dan Black of Greenberg Traurig.
