DaBaby has apologized to the LGBTQ+ community for homophobic comments he made during his set at Rolling Loud Miami last month.
“I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made,” the rapper said on Instagram, referring to his homophobic remarks and comments about HIV/AIDS victims on July 25.
DaBaby was dropped from several music festivals over the outburst, including Lollapalooza and Governors Ball.
“Again, I apologize for my misinformed comments about HIV/AIDS and I know education on this is important,” he said in a statement posted on the social media platform on Monday.
DaBaby admitted that what he needed was education on these topics and guidance.
“I appreciate the many people who came to me with kindness, who reached out to me privately to offer wisdom, education, and resources. That’s what I needed and it was received,” he added.
