BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker has told how one hectic week of managing his presenting work and stint on Strictly Come Dancing saw him get only “24 hours sleep”. The newsreader, 44, made it to the final five on the competition along with his professional partner Nadiya Bychkova. But in a candid Q&A session the BBC star admitted that he found juggling his hectic work schedule to be “tiring”.

Faced with a lengthy train journey, Dan opened up his Instagram to his 269,000 followers.

He wrote: “On a train, got a few minutes.

“What do you want to know good people?”

The star soon started to respond to fans’ questions before the subject turned to Strictly Come Dancing.

One Instagram user asked the star: “Was it hard getting up for work during Strictly?

“Well done!” they added.

Dan responded: “No, I love it but it was tiring.

“For example, on the week this photo was taken I had less than 24 hours sleep,” he wrote.

The BBC host posted a snap of himself and his professional partner Nadiya smiling and posing for the camera.

Nadiya wore a beautiful blush-coloured gown, while Dan looked dapper in a suit and bowtie.

Elsewhere in the Q&A session, the BBC presenter revealed that he was planning to go and watch the Strictly tour next week.

When asked by a fan if was planning on attending the show, Dan revealed that he’ll be watching soon.

The newsreader responded with a Boomerang clip of himself doing his famous ‘lobster’ move.

Dan wrote: “Yes, taking the family to see @nadiyabychkova and the rest of the lovely people in Sheffield next week.”

Last month, Dan took to the social media platform to address why he wouldn’t be appearing on the Strictly tour.

He wrote: “My decision not to do the #Strictly tour this year has nothing to do with the tiny minority of people who were miffed we were still in it.”

He went on to say he was responding to a flood of messages from many of his fans who supported him.

“Thank you to everyone who has reached out. I’ll post some of them once I’ve been through them all. They are really touching,” he added.

Dan went on to clarify that he will not be taking part due to his many work commitments and wanting to spend time with his family.

He added he will be buying tickets to watch the show with his wife and children, ending: “I’m sure it’ll be amazing – as usual,” he concluded.
