Strictly Come Dancing star Dan Walker has taken to Instagram to reveal that he’s undergoing painful-looking cupping therapy ahead of tonight’s show. The star, who is partnered with professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova, told how the strain of dancing was amplifying his problems with his knee, which he confessed to having dislocated five times.

In view of his 254,000 followers, the BBC Sports presenter gave an overview of his knee injuries in a post which has since been taken down.
Dan wrote: “Watching the football after a spot of physio on my knee.
“Dislocated it 5 times during my [football] playing days and this dancing business is quite hard work.”
Addressing the man in the snap, the star revealed that it was his Strictly physio who was tending his leg ahead of the quarter-final later tonight.
Dan continued: “This is @darel_evans… he and @jen_nash_ (the other physio) are magnificent humans but he does enjoy pain far too much.
“Yes I had to shave my knee so the tape sticks,” Dan ended the post alongside a zipped-up mouth emoji.
Taking the picture while lying down, the star had his leg on the shoulder of his Strictly physio who was fully masked-up as he tended to the broadcaster in his dressing room.
The sports reporter showcased a clear line where he had shaved his leg.
Dan revealed he had decided to undergo cupping therapy on his right leg to help with his knee problems.
Inside of the hot glass vacuum, Dan’s skin had turned a startling red as his blood vessels expanded.
Typically left on the skin for up to five minutes, the alternative treatment has the same benefits as a deep tissue massage and can help to relieve inflammation and promote increased blood circulation.
The alternative treatment can cause temporary bruising and soreness.

This evening will see Dan and Nadiya Tango to Santa Maria by Gotan Project.
Despite having the second-lowest score on the leaderboard last week, the duo managed to safely make the quarter-finals after Rhys Stephenson and Nancy Xu went up against Tilly Ramsay and Nikita Kuzmin in the dance-off.
