Licensed to camp it up! Daniel Craig is 007 as you have never seen him… in a silver chain and leather for vodka ad shoot in Paris
The chiselled jaw and gym-honed physique are familiar from his 007 days, but Daniel Craig’s latest look suggests he’s been given a licence to thrill an entirely new audience.
Wearing make-up and dressed in a black leather Brando biker jacket, low-necked T-shirt and silver chain, the 54-year-old star’s camp outfit for his latest role would certainly have raised an eyebrow with old chauvinist James Bond.
Craig was spotted in Paris filming an advertisement for Belvedere vodka, the drinks brand which had previously signed a multi-million pound deal with Bond producers to put the martini – shaken, not stirred – back on 007’s menu.

The jet-setting couple, who were joined by his daughters Matewa Kiritapu and Te Hinekahu on the set, are reportedly planning to tie the knot when their work commitments allow.

As filming continued into Friday evening, Craig, who is married to actress Rachel Weisz, had a wardrobe change to shoot new scenes and emerged wearing a dazzling white suit and pale pink shirt – another fashion no-no for Ian Fleming’s famous agent. The 007 author kept a notebook containing a number of rules for ‘how to live’, which included the warning: ‘Don’t waste your time on women who wear a bracelet on their left ankle.’ His thoughts on men in tight T-shirts were not recorded.
Craig, however, is known to enjoy challenging masculine stereotypes. He hit the headlines last year by saying that he often goes to gay bars to avoid ‘aggressive’ men, having grown sick of getting into fights in straight venues.
‘I’ve been going to gay bars for as long as I can remember,’ he said on the podcast Lunch With Bruce, ‘because I don’t get into fights in gay bars that often.
‘You didn’t really have to state your sexuality. It was OK. And it was a very safe place to be. I could meet girls there, because there are a lot of girls there for exactly the same reason I was there. It was kind of an ulterior motive.’
