Danny Dyer has made a shocking revelation about his real name, due to his dad making a huge mistake on his birth certificate.
EastEnders star Danny, 43, revealed his actual moniker is Danial after his father Antony was “battered” when he signed the important document to name his son.
Danny, who recently revealed he’s named his unborn grandchild “The Chav”, made the admission as he chatted to his daughter Dani Dyer on their joint podcast Sorted with the Dyers.
He explained: “I did change my name, because my name is Danial. My old dad, and I love him very much, is old school.

“I was born in the 70s so men didn't really get involved in much then. Back in the day, my mum would go, ‘I’m going into labour,’ and he'd be up the boozer and go, ‘What time are you going to be home?’
“She went into labour and gave birth. He got up there, obviously off his nut, and he got to do the important thing, the birth certificate, which I think you have to sign.
“He agreed to the name Daniel but he spelt it Danial – D-A-N-I-A-L. It could've been a mix of things; that he was battered, that he doesn't spell. It could've been a bit of both.”
Actor Danny explained how he had always intended to change his name and decided to do so when he went into acting.
Danny, who recently slammed Joe Wicks as ‘f**king irritating’, said: “As I got into the acting years I sort of decided … I changed it. It was always going to be Danny. I thought Danny was a better name, it has a better ring to it.”
Despite his father not being present as his birth, Danny recently revealed he plans to be there for his daughter when she welcomes her first child.
The actor’s Love Island daughter Dani, 24, revealed her father is excited to be there for the big day as she said: “He’ll be outside hopefully, we don’t really know the rules and stuff. But, I really want my mum and Sammy there.”

Continuing to speak about how Danny, who plays Mick Carter in the BBC soap, is feeling about his daughter’s pregnancy, Dani said: “Dad said this week he’s been really worried about me giving birth.”
The TV star continued: “I think he’s really scared. I’m like: ‘I’m fine’ and he’s like: ‘Oh you’re going to be in pain.’”
However, Dani insisted in an interview with The Sun that she’s “excited” about giving birth, and that Sammy and her mum Jo will be there to give her support every step of the way.
