David and Brooklyn Beckham go from despair to delight at FA Cup final

David Beckham and son Brooklyn go from despair to delight (and back again!) as his old team Man Utd are humbled by two Manchester City stunners during the FA Cup Final

David Beckham and son Brooklyn cut very glum figures after Manchester City scored within the first 12 seconds during the Emirates FA Cup final against Man Utd on Saturday.

However, the football ace’s initial despair soon turned to delight when his former club equalised at the 33rd minute during the closely fought match at London’s Wembley Stadium.

David, 48, was seen jumping out of his chair and punching the air with joy following Bruno Fernandes’ goal, while Brooklyn, 24, cheered next to him.

But sadly the pair’s joy was short-lived, as the second half brought yet another Gundogan stunner, putting the score at 2-1.

The father-of-four, whose professional footballing career started at Manchester United aged just 17, dressed up to support his old team at the stadium.

He cut a smart figure in a navy suit, white shirt and navy tie, while Brooklyn was also dapper in a black suit.

The pair were joined by David’s youngest son Cruz, 18, who echoed his father and brother’s style in smart attire.

As he sat in the stands, David was also greeted by Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak, who shook his hand as he passed.

David wasn’t the only famous figure in the crowd watching the Manchester Derby.

Prince William, who is the current president of the FA, was also on hand to watch the proceedings.

The future king joined in the excitement at the FA Cup final – as he belted out the national anthem alongside an excited crowd.

Ilkay Gundogan ruthlessly set the pace, thundering a stunning volley into the back of the net that Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea could do little about.

With his head in his hand, Beckham seemed stunned by the electric pace as the 32-year-old German opened the scoring.

City fans went wild for the incredible start – celebrating with ‘the Poznań’ where they bounced together in the stands as their team drew ahead.

However, Bruno Fernandes equalised from the penalty spot for United after a controversial handball decision on Jack Grealish.

Utd’s joy was short-lived however as City were soon back in the lead once again thanks to Ilkay Gundogan’s second goal in the 51st minute.

If City can emerge victorious on Saturday, they then travel to Istanbul to face Inter Milan in the Champions League final next weekend as they aim to become the first and only side since United in 1998-99 to win a Treble.
