When opening up about his battle with the deadly virus in a candid social media post, the former star of ‘Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood’ says that his breathing ‘was so compromised.’
AceShowbiz –Dean McDermott has opened up about his battle with COVID-19. When weighing in on the coronavirus that “scared the s**t” out of him, the husband of Tori Spelling said that he feared he would need to be placed on a ventilator.
The 55-year-old star took to his Instagram account on Saturday, January 8 to share his struggle with the COVID-19 infection. Alongside a photo of him playing hockey, the “Dead Again in Tombstone” actor, who shared that he had pneumonia over the holidays, wrote, “This is the first place I’m going once I get over COVID!!”
“I’ve got to be honest, this scared the s**t out of me. My breathing was so compromised I thought I was going to be put on a ventilator,” Dean continued. He added that he’s now “slowly turning the corner to recovery.” He concluded his post by urging people to “be safe out there.”
Dean’s candid social media post came after his wife Tori revealed that the entire family tested positive for the novel coronavirus. On January 7, Tori wrote via Instagram, “Our entire family has COVID. Yes, every single member got it.”
“Nothing is worse than wanting to care for your little ones but feeling so sick you can barely function yourself,” Tori further expressed her frustration. The “True Tori” star continued, “I feel useless as a parent. Devastated. A mom is supposed to take care of their kiddos when sick. That’s how it works.”
Tori added, “But, we are all getting thru this together. I know we aren’t alone. So many are going thru this as well. Have gone they thru this. And, will go thru this.” The 48-year-old star went on saying, “If I’m not responding please understand. Give me some time. We are right in the thick of it.”
Elsewhere in her caption, Tori added more details of the symptoms. “We all have varying degrees of symptoms,” she shared. “I was last to be symptomatic. We all were praying it was just a bad winter cold. But it wasn’t.” She then concluded her post as saying, “For reference : This post took 45 min of starting and stopping to write,” adding a hashtag that read, “#covidsucks.”
