Demi Lovato Flaunts Head Tattoo After Completing Rehab Stint

The ‘Heart Attack’ hitmaker, who came out as non-binary last summer, takes to Instagram Story to share with their followers a picture of their new head ink.

AceShowbizDemi Lovato is kicking off 2022 with being more sober. To celebrate their completion of recent rehab stint, the 29-year-old pop star debuted their new tattoo on Saturday, January 8.

The “Heart Attack” hitmaker, who came out as non-binary last summer, took to Instagram Story to share with their followers a picture of their new head ink which featured a black spider.

The 29-year-old then posted a plea to their hairstylist to “come fix my hair pleeeease.” They also shared the meaning behind their new tat, which is the creation of popular Los Angeles-based, celebrity-favorite tattoo artist Dr. Woo.

Demi shared a passage from the Native American folk tale Grandmother Spider Brings the Light, which read, “It was Grandmother Spider who taught us many things. She taught us about pottery and weaving. She taught us about fire and light and dark. She taught us that we are all connected on the web – each one of us having our place in this world.”

The new look arrived after Demi returned home from a treatment facility in Utah. A source claimed to PEOPLE, “Demi is committed to their well-being, and throughout their life, they plan to do regular check-ins to make sure they are putting themselves first.”

Additionally, a close friend revealed to E! News that the star is currently “home, in a great place and doing well.” The friend added, “They are looking forward to getting back to work, being with close friends and loved ones and want to focus on the positive.”

Prior to this, Demi denounced their controversial “California sober” lifestyle. Of the lifetyle, which allowed them to smoke weed and drink alcohol in moderation, Demi said, “I no longer support my ‘California sober’ ways. Sober sober is the only way to be.”

The term previously earned Demi backlash with Lala Kent being among the critics. “To hear someone say, ‘I’m California sober,’ it doesn’t sit right with me,” the Bravo personality, who also struggled with addictions, opined. “The smallest amount of anything could potentially — you could fall off the wagon. So for me, I just think … just don’t disrespect people who work really hard to never pick up anything and remain in their right frame of mind at all times.”
