Loose Women star Denise Welch has shared details of her nightmare commute, including having to take part in a Zoom meeting about her sex life while on a busy train.

The TV star lives in Wilmslow but usually travels down to London on an early train for her Loose Women appearances and told viewers how her journey on Thursday was plagued by problems.

Denise, 63, laughingly told her co-stars and viewers about the chaos that ensued when her usual train was forced to terminate at Milton Keynes and she tried to get a cab to Bedford to catch another London train.

She said the morning had started badly: "I had woken up in my usual rage against the machine angry mood at 4 o'clock in the morning."

After being "turfed off" the train, Denise tried to get in a taxi with a driver who didn't know where the station was in Bedford.

She said when she got in the car she asked how long it would take to get to Bedford: "'Oh, it's about 25 minutes, which Bedford station do you want?' I said the one that goes to London, he said 'well I don't know which one goes to London.'

"I said well can you not find out? I googled it. We got to Bedford, I'm thinking am I going to make this 9am train. He said 'I've got no idea where the station is.' We drove around Bedford, when I called you guys, for 20 minutes.

"When we stopped I was so angry I couldn't speak and I felt a bit sorry for him because he was shaking. I said how much is that and he said 'well I've knocked £14 off the price.' I said knocked £14 off! We should have been there half an hour ago!"

But the nightmare didn't end there for Denise as she was left red faced on the train during a Zoom meeting to plan the show.

She said: "Then of course I got on (the train) and had to do a Zoom talk about sex with you guys."

Charlene White, who was hosting, said: "It was the funniest thing in the world when you've got your earphones in and you've got your computer up on the side and you're going redder and redder."

Denise told her: "They were saying can you talk about your sex life and even though I knew (the passengers) couldn't hear you I was still going red."

Brenda Edwards also had a difficult morning as she admitted to getting stuck in the lift at the Loose Women building and having to be rescued by security guards.
