Laura Hamilton, 39, took to Instagram to share the latest news about her new home with her 147,000 followers. The A Place In The Sun star has started the renovation of a house in Surrey after moving out of her home in Purley, where she has lived for nine years.
Laura revealed some of the struggles behind the process in a new snap shared to her online post.
Showing a side of the house that had been stripped of the outer layer of bricks, Laura explained how ivy had caused damage to the structure.
She wrote: “Ivy that is left to grow out of control DESTROYS everything!!!
“It’s damaged my wall and part of the roof.”
She concluded the message with the hashtags “#Surrey” and “#renovation”.
A follow-up video showed the presenter ripping apart a piece of wood from under the roof.
She penned: “You never know what you are going to find when renovating an old property…”
Last week, Laura announced she had “big plans” for her new home in an Instagram post featuring two snaps of the building.
The first photo was of Laura’s sash windows which were taken during the renovation of her house.
She said: “Beautiful Sash windows that need some love.
“#home #renovation #surrey #hiddengem #countrylife.”
The other photograph showed a corner of one of the rooms in her Surrey home.
She wrote: “I have BIG plans for my new home, but in the meantime, it’s cosy with lots of lamps, candles and flowers…
“#Surrey #countryside #renovation #hiddengem #property.”
Laura’s latest updates come after she recently announced she was separating from her husband Alex after 13 years together.
The pair tied the knot in 2012 and have since had two children, Rocco and Tahlia, together.
A post shared with her Instagram followers on January 10 featured a picture of a quote from Doctor Seuss which read: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
She added: “This isn’t something I ever thought I’d be saying but, after 13 years of being together Alex and I have separated.
“Our children are and always will be our number one priority and we would respect privacy for our family at this time. Laura.”
She confirmed on January 8 that she would be moving out of her home in Purley.
