Diana Ross has teamed up with Tame Impala for a new single “Turn Up The Sunshine.”
The song will feature on the soundtrack for the latest film in the Despicable Me franchise, Minions: The Rise Of Gru.
The single was co-written by Jack Antonoff, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, Sam Dew and Grammy-winning Swedish musician/producer Patrik Berger.
The star-studded 19-song soundtrack album for Mininos: The Rise Of Gru also features St. Vincent, Phoebe Bridgers, Brockhampton and Antonoff’s band Bleachers. The full record is set to arrive on July 1 via Decca on the same day the film release in theaters worldwide.
“I spent the past year recording new music and this music is a reflection of the joy and the love and the gratitude that I feel every day,” Ross said of the album in a release. “For me there was an urgency in making a meaningful album, working with what is happening now in our world. Through the power of music, we are creating a new kind of conversation that supports our choices and the decisions that we make.”
Minions: The Rise of Gru, which is set in the 1970s, tells the origin story of how Gru, voiced by Steve Carell, first met his iconic Minions.
