Eamonn Holmes beams with pride at granddaughter Emilia’s christening

TV presenter Eamonn Holmes looked overjoyed as he shared a gorgeous picture of granddaughter Emilia's christening.

Eamonn, 61, became a grandfather for the first time in July when son Declan, 32, welcomed baby Emilia with his wife Jenny.

He beamed with pride in the image, posted to Instagram on Sunday, which saw the star posing with wife and co-presenter Ruth Langsford, proud parents Declan and Jenny, and baby Emilia.

The sweet post was captioned: "Emilia, my first grandchild christened today. Lovely family gathering including adoring parents Declan & Jenny."

Declan is one of three children the presenter shares his first wife Gabrielle Holmes along with daughter Rebecca, 30, and son Niall, 28.

He shares 19-year-old son Jack with his current wife Ruth.

Eamonn announced the happy news of his granddaughter's birth on a live episode of This Morning, alongside Ruth.

He said: "My son Declan and his wife Jenny are the happy couple.

"Jenny gave birth to Emilia, who is 7lbs 6oz."

Taking to Instagram shortly after the birth, he shared a black and white image of Declan and his baby girl, captioning the post: "My first born son Declan with his first born and my first grandchild Emilia.

"Welcome to The world Emilia. Just call me Papa."

The exciting developments come shortly after the presenter contracted Covid and was forced to pull out of several public appearances.

"Covid finally caught me," the presenter shared.

"Thankfully I'm double jabbed. More than half way through my isolation and coping with the symptoms and effects well. Unfortunately I'm going to be a no show for some professional & personal events.

"Just want to let everyone know why & offer my apologies."

However, it seemed that the TV star is back and fighting fit as he celebrated Emilia's big day.
