EastEnders fans in hysterics as Ian Beale calendar goes on sale: ‘I want it’

EastEnders fans have been left in hysterics as Ian Beale is immortalised in a new 2022 calendar.

Fans of Adam Woodyatt, who is currently staring on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, can now enjoy a different hilarious image of the EastEnders legend every month in 2022.

The 53 year old is the longest serving character on the BBC soap, who has appeared on the show continuously since it first began in 1985.

In the wall calendar, fans will be treated to 36 different iconic images of Ian Beale throughout the years on Albert Square, all of which are reminders of his explosive story-lines, family dramas and cheesy one-liners.

Fans took to Twitter to express their love for the hilarious new calendar from The Calendar King.

One penned: “OMG! How funny is the Ian Beale calendar” with a string of laughing faces.

As another wrote: “Apparently there’s a 2022 Ian Beale calendar and I want it.”

A third added: “I need this Ian Beale calendar in my life.”

However, the front cover of the £14.95 image might be the best one yet, which is a reminder of Ian’s toughest tribulations on the show.

In 2012, Ian became homeless after suffering with a breakdown and mental health problems.

During the dramatic narrative, Ian was jilted by his fiancé Mandy Satler on their wedding day, before he went missing for weeks. Then the character resurfaced with matted long hair, a full beard and dirty clothes and a woolly hat.

The rest of the year shows snapshots of Ian breaking down in tears in 2013 when his daughter Lucy died, which was turned into memes at the time. As well as punches mid-fight with his arch nemesis Phil Mitchell.

While Adam has been in Gwryth Castle for I'm A Celeb, the actor spoke about taking a break from his impressive soap career.

Adam admitted he had “no plans” to return to Albert Square at the moment, as he is tied into performing in Looking Good Dead which is on tour until April 2022.

He reflected on how he started on the show: "I started when I was 9. There was a kid in my class who went off and was doing commercials.

"My mum spoke to his mum, got the details, went round to this lady’s house in Leytonstone.

"She had a piano. She said, ‘Can you sing?’ Back then I could. Sang a few tunes and read a bit of a book. And that was Sylvia Young’s front room. Way, way before she had the school."

Before Frankie Bridge asked why he took a hiatus from the BBC One soap in the explosive New Year storyline.

The actor continued: "I just had another opportunity. This play came up. I just fancied doing something different. The way the storyline is, they needed me to take a break. Yeah.. the break’s just got longer."
