Emmerdales Danny Miller to prove hes different off-screen during Im A Celebrity

Emmerdale's Danny Miller has revealed his excitement at doing I'm A Celebrity – and insists fans will finally see the real him in the castle, not just his character Aaron Dingle.

Speaking before he enters the contest later tonight, the actor said: "I’m A Celebrity is the biggest show in the country and I want to show people what I am like as Danny rather than as Aaron. It will be nice for people to see me not crying but having a laugh!"

Danny, who welcomed his first son, Albert, last month added he was excited to try something new. "I'm a fun guy at home and I’ve been known as Aaron now for 13 years – it’s good to step outside your comfort zone."

Indeed it is a huge leap for Danny, who recently announced he was leaving the soap after 13 years. Walking into the castle will mean spending a huge chunk of time apart from his fiancée Steph Jones and little Albert, who was born on 25th October.

And by all accounts it wasn't an easy decision for the couple to make.

"Steph and I had a long discussion about me taking part," Danny explained. "We were due to start IVF earlier this year and that would have meant the baby would have been due next March, so it wouldn’t have mattered. But then a miracle happened and Steph fell pregnant [without IVF]. I knew my baby would only be about a month old when I went into the castle."

He added, "I was worried about leaving the baby with Steph on her own, but she is a midwife and I know our baby will be in perfect hands. She has been incredibly supportive and she knows what a great opportunity this is to take part."

While there's no doubt baby Albert won't be far from his thoughts, Danny will have the pressing matters of the Bushtucker Trials to contend with too. The sort which might be at odds with his pledge not to be getting emotional on screen.

"I am s**t scared of the eating trials!" he said. "I can’t even brush my teeth without being sick and I am dreading it if my gagging reflexes start but, that said, it won’t stop me doing the trials!"

When asked if he would scream, Danny responded, "I think it will be more of a yelp than a high-pitched scream! It’s going to be tough and I’m also just hoping I don’t pass out if I have to do a coffin trial either!"
