Emmerdale’s Michelle Hardwick slams troll who claims her ‘Hollywood career failed’

Michelle Hardwick brushed aside an online troll after tweeting about the drama going down in Emmerdale.

The actress reacted to the tension of another dramatic week in the Yorkshire Dales with a tweet one user decided to negatively comment on.

The soap star, 45, wrote to her 114,000 followers: "Ok, so when I said the @emmerdale village was windy last week, that was NOTHING compared to today".

One follower replied: "seems to be more wind since you came back, what's wrong did it not work out in Hollywood".

After spending time away on maternity leave to welcome son Teddy, Michelle returned to the ITV soap in December last year.

The star reacted in typically good humour and replied: "Hi David, if you actually followed me on Twitter, you’d probably know I left to have a baby.

"Didn’t have time to go to Hollywood", alongside several cry-laughing-face emojis.

One fan defended the popular actress and wrote: "David,. Excellent gaffe mate".

"She was on maternity leave not in Hollywood," another replied.

A third simply replied: "Cringe!!!!"

This is not the first time Michelle has batted away hurtful comments abut her personal life on social media as the star has previously received homophobic abuse online too.

Michelle dealt with the issue head-on and the star shamed the troll and brought their comments to light for all to see.

She re-quoted the tweet and had said: "Come on, show us who you really are… I dare you!".

Michelle shares baby Teddy with her wife, Emmerdale producer Kate Brooks and the star explained how the ITV set is now rife with chat about babies.

The soap star, who plays the vet Vanessa Woodfield, explained: “All we do on set is talk about babies! I’m sure everyone is really sick of us.”

She continued: “There was me and Laura Norton [who plays Kerry], and now Amy [Walsh]. It’s brilliant."

The actress also opened up about her feelings stepping back on to the ITV set for the first time in a year and a half following the birth of her son, Teddy.

“When I first walked back on to set, it was as though I’d only had two weeks off! Everything was exactly the same, and I was dead excited to be back. Though I was very nervous, I must admit”, Michelle candidly admitted.
