Dick Strawbridge, 63, and Angel Adoree, 44, left Channel 4 viewers heartbroken when they announced their beloved series Escape to the Chateau was coming to an end. The pair shared that part of their decision was for family reasons.

The couple explained their two children are getting older and they made a decision to “protect” them from cameras.

Dick and Angel are parents to Arthur and Dorothy.

Arthur was born in 2013 and is nine, while eight-year-old Dorothy was born in 2015.

Taking to Instagram today, the married couple announced some exciting news as they shared that their new show will soon air on Channel 4.

Dick and Angel announced they would return to viewers’ screens in a spin-off programme.

Escape to the Chateau: Secret France sees the couple turn their attention to new adventures, firstly unlocking the secrets of France in a brand new travel series.

During their time at the chateau, Dick and Angel have come to discover a side of France that few tourists ever see.

The spin-off series will see the couple heading off the beaten track and exploring the areas of France that few of us get to see.

Lizi Wootton, Head of Popular Factual at Two Rivers, says: “We are thrilled to continue to bring the escapism, aspiration, warmth, accessibility and fun, which is the beating heart of the Chateau series, to the travel genre.

“As Dick and Angel go beyond the chateau’s gates their unique ability to seek out the unexpected and uncover the extraordinary will combine with their innate sense of adventure to unlock the secrets of France.”

The ninth series and final episode of Escape to the Chateau aired in December.

The new spin-off show is set to air on Channel 4 later this year.
