Louisa Lytton said "I do" to her new husband Ben Bhanvra last week at their beautiful Italian wedding – in 39 degrees -with 90 guests flying over to see them become husband and wife.
Three years after Ben, 31, popped the question to Louisa, 33, during a romantic holiday in the Maldives, the couple tied the knot in a stunning ceremony in Siena, Tuscany, in front of their 10-month-old daughter Aura, and their family and close friends.
Chatting to OK!, the couple recalled their special day while eating in an Italian restaurant during their honeymoon.
The three-day wedding began in Siena on Friday with a pizza party at the villa where all 90 guests stayed for the weekend.
Louisa revealed she always had her heart set on marrying Ben in Italy with her mum Jane being half Italian. Louisa and Ben’s ceremony began at 4’o’clock in an incredible amphitheatre as the temperature hit almost 40 degrees.
“Apologies if we are sweating in all of our photos!” she laughs, before adding: “In the ceremony, all of the guests were in the shade and me and Ben were centre stage in the sun. So when I got up to Ben, he said, ‘You look beautiful,’ and the next thing he said was, ‘I’m so hot!’ My legs were dripping with sweat.”
Louisa tells us she kept her flower arrangements minimal, as it was "beautiful without". "We had two archways of flowers behind us. It’s so beautiful there, we really didn’t need much. Apart from the archway, and the bouquets, we only had small table decorations because it didn’t need much else," she shares.
Little Aura was a flower girl and was carried down the aisle by Louisa’s bridesmaid Robyn, who was wearing a dusty pink dress, while Louisa looked incredible in her off-white bespoke wedding dress, which her dad Alan had bought for her three years ago, with rose gold blocked heels.
The Ruby Allen actress – who had her hair and make-up done by her friend Natasha Klipp – revealed that as her father bought her wedding dress three years ago, there were alterations to be made.
She revealed she messaged a dressmaker – who changed the shape of the dress and sewed buttons onto the back. “It was bespoke and so lovely,” she shared. “Then, I changed in the evening. I wasn’t going to, but because it was so hot, I decided to change. I wore an Andrea Hawkes bridal gown, it was a silk dress.”
Louisa decided to be traditional by having something new, something old, something borrowed and something blue.
“My garter was blue, the new was my dress, the old was my engagement ring, but I can’t remember what I borrowed!” she giggled, before going into detail about her veil, which had petals on it.
And speaking of her bouquet, she said she had no idea what flowers she had in her bouquet, but they were a "dusty pink colour".
Ben on the other hand wore a three-piece suit, which was “a mix of linen, and a subtle cream – and the waistcoat was a champagne colour”.
Once the ceremony had finished, there was jazz music playing outside before guests made their way to their tables for the Italian dinner to start in the vineyard.
“The food was unbelievable,” Louisa said. They had champagne risotto, stuffed pasta, Tuscan beef and then an Italian cake Millefoglie – which is made of pastry, cream and fruit. The drinks were kept simple, as Louisa tells us they had Bellinis and Aperols.
Louisa shared: "It was so nice that every part of the wedding was in a different location, it made it really special. We were so concerned about the weather as if it didn’t go to plan, we don’t know what we would have done. And then we had the party inside an old wine cellar.”
The wedding party continued on the Sunday as they all sat down for a brunch, which had a mix of pastas, Omelettes, and pastries.
