Judy Fitzgerald, who appeared on popular dating show First Dates has passed away unexpectedly at the the age of 32.
The former Miss Bikini Ireland model, who won the competition in 2014, and has since worked as a frontline nurse and midwife is reported to have tragically passed away on Saturday.
A notice on RIP.ie announcing the tragedy read: “Judy Fitzgerald, Mulcair Road, Raheen Heights and Finnitstown, Adare, Co. Limerick passed away unexpectedly on 27th May 2023.
"Sadly missed by her heartbroken parents Liam and Imelda, sister Lucy, brother William, brother-in-law Pedro, extended members of the Fitzgerald and Martin Families and a large circle of friends."
She appeared on an episode of First Dates in Ireland last year.
In 2015 Judy walked the catwalk at New York Fashion Week, after which she said that the experience had been a "dream come true".
Judy continued to work in modelling and social media, alongside her medical career, and regularly appeared in Irish press as a mental health ambassador and advocate.
Since the announcement of her tragic death, tributes have been pouring in with fashion designer Venera Tabakin leading the way as she posted a number of photos herself and Judy, which she captioned: "R.I.P Judy Fitzgerald my little Model and friend Miss Bikini and Celebrity of Ireland."
To which one friend commented: "This is terrible, only talked to her in April" while another added: "Sending love And Prayers."
Actress and Miss Ireland judge Jenny Dixon, and her husband Tom Neville, wrote: "So so sad to learn of Judy’s passing. She will be missed by all very much. Our sincerest sympathy to the Fitzgerald family and friends."
And former Big Brother star Hughie Maughan penned: "So sorry and sad to hear the news of your passing honey [heart emoji] Rest In Peace"
Judy appeared on an episode of First Dates in Ireland last year, where she was paired up with Dubliner Aaron, who shared that he was shocked to find someone in Ireland that was "prettier than him.
According to Judy's website, she had also worked as a cosmetic nurse after she "represented Ireland on the world stage."
She had written that she aimed to use her fitness skills “to empower” her clients to reach their “goals”, “change their lives for the better”, and “become the best version of themselves”.
“For me, there is no better feeling than inspiring people to feel about good themselves both inside and out,” she finished.
