Draped in the finest Valentino couture, Florence Pugh exudes the kind of enigmatic glamour that has made her the toast of Hollywood.
But as our pictures taken this week show, the Oxford-born star of Don’t Worry Darling and Little Women has not lost any of her down-to-earth charisma.
The 27-year-old was spotted munching crisps and puffing on a cigarette during a break in filming an advert for the Italian fashion house in Rome.
Dressed in a flowing apricot gown with feathered trim, Florence laughed with the crew on a balcony overlooking the city’s Piazza Venezia as she attempted to snack without ruining one of her outfits – aided by Valentino’s creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, who gallantly held a napkin under her chin to catch any crumbs.
The pair chatted animatedly, at one point sharing a cigarette and putting their arms around each other as Florence clutched a crisp packet.

Moments earlier, the star had been filmed exhibiting far more elegant poise in the floor-length dress as she held its layers of chiffon fabric aloft for the cameras.
She also appeared in a striking ruffled fuchsia-pink outfit, a lime-green dress and in an elegant ivory satin cape-style gown with pussybow neck-tie for the fashion house’s latest campaign.
The actress, who is said to be dating Charlie Gooch, a friend from her Oxford schooldays, after ending her three-year relationship with actor and director Zach Braff, 47, has appeared regularly in Valentino and has attracted praise for her fashion choices.
At the Oscars ceremony last month, she appeared on the red carpet in a voluminous off-white gown by the brand, and she also turned to the designer for a quirky take on a black tie outfit for the premiere of her latest film, A Good Person, in New York.
The film, in which she plays Allison, a young woman who becomes addicted to opioid painkillers following her involvement in a fatal car accident, was directed by Braff.
But filming is likely to have been less troublesome than during her previous movie, Don’t Worry Darling.
Pugh allegedly fell out with director Olivia Wilde amid rumours Florence and her co-star Harry Styles, who was then dating Wilde, shared a kiss off-set.
