Frances McDormand is a big winner!
The 63-year-old actress took home the prestigious Best Actress in a Leading Role award for her work in Nomadland at the 2021 Academy Awards on Sunday (April 25) at Union Station in Los Angeles.

“I have no words. My voice is in my sword. We know the sword is our work. And I like work. Thank you for knowing that, and thanks for this,” she said while accepting the Best Actress award.

In addition, Nomadland ended up winning for Best Picture during the evening’s ceremony. While joining the cast and crew of Nomadland, she spoke out again on the stage.
“Please watch our movie on the largest screen possible. And one day, very very soon, take everyone you know into a theater, shoulder to shoulder, in that dark space, and watch every film represented here tonight. We give this one to our wolf,” she said before unleashing a mighty howl to cheers.
