Frankie Bridge delights fans as she reunites with S Club Juniors bandmate

Frankie Bridge took to the stage on Wednesday night for a gala performance of 2:22 A Ghost Story, with an afterparty seeing her reunite with her former S Club Juniors bandmate.

The singer-turned-actress, 34, joined the cast of the popular play earlier this month after actress Sophia Bush had to step down from the role due to health issues.

Frankie, who is playing the role of Lauren, said that starring in the West End play was a "total dream come true."

And the recent gala night saw a rather star-studded audience descend on the Apollo Theatre, although Frankie's husband former footballer Wayne Bridge opted to attend a Liam Gallagher gig instead.

Following the performance the cast, which includes Jaime Winstone, Ricky Champ, and Clifford Samuel, attended an after-party with a number of the other celebs in attendance.

And fans were left delighted when Frankie reunited with her former S Club Juniors bandmate Aaron Renfree. The pair posed for a photo together alongside The Great British Bake Off champ Candice Brown.

Frankie is the latest in a long line of celebs to join to the cast of the play, with previous seasons having featured Lilly Allen, Cheryl, Harry Potter star Tom Felton, Encanto’s Stephanie Beatriz, Busted singer Matt Willis and Inbetweeners actor James Buckley.

The show, directed by Matthew Dunster, follows Jenny, who believes her new home is haunted while her husband Sam is not having any of it.

The couple argue with their first dinner guests, old friend Lauren and her new partner Ben as belief and scepticism clash.

The play has moved to the Apollo Theatre, with previous runs at the Lyric and Criterion theatres.

Frankie joined the cast after Sophia Bush returned to the US after becoming ill.

Sophia, who has announced she has split from her husband of 13 months following her return to the US, announced her departure from the show on social media.

She wrote: "I came down with a virus in June and have not been able to bring my body back to a baseline.

“After weeks of being intermittently pulled off stage, visiting multiple doctors and spending a night in the emergency room, I’ve been advised by expert healthcare specialists that I needed to end my time on stage and be under the care of my doctors at home in the US.

"I owe a debt of gratitude to my incredible castmates and to every member of our extraordinary company, who became fast family. It means the world to me that so many fans travelled to London to see the show."

She finished: "I know that Frankie Bridge will be astounding as she makes Lauren her own through the rest of this run."
