Gary Linekeris dominating our screens fronting the BBC coverage of the World Cup 2022 in Qatar. The multimillionaire Match of the Day presenter, whorefuses to marry again as he 'can't be a**ed' to sleep with someone, has lived his life in the public eye since he was a teenager, including two divorces. However, the eligible bachelor has mostly kept his love life private in recent years and when the 61 year old former footballer isn't presenting he can be found at home with his four children whom he shares with ex-wife Michelle Cockayne.
Gary and Michelle married in 1986 and share four children, George, Harry, Tobias, and Angus. However, Michelle claimed that Gary’s actions during their marriage had caused her “stress and anxiety” and 20 years after they tied the knot, Michelle announced she was divorcing Gary on the grounds of “unreasonable behaviour”.
Reports at the time stated that the childhood sweethearts had "grown apart" but that there was "no-one else involved and never has been".
In 2007 Gary began dating model Danielle Bux after initially being set up on a blind date by a mutual friend. Despite a 20 year age gap, the pair tied the knot two years later in Ravenna, Italy. However, in 2016 the couple announced plans to divorce amid reports that they parted ways due to Gary not wanting to have more children. Just over a year after the divorce, Danielle gave birth to her first daughter with now husband, Nate Greenwald.
Gary said at the time of their split: "Thank you for all your kind words. @DanielleBux and I had many wonderful years together. We remain very close and the greatest of friends."
Despite ending their seven-year marriage the two have remained on great terms to this day. Gary told the Mirror in 2019: "We still speak three times a day, we text all the time. When she comes to London she stays with me, when I go to LA I stay with her".
In another interview with The Times, Gary suggested that Danielle's desire for children caused their split. The former England star added: "Obviously I would have done, but she said, 'It's not fair on you.' Then I said, 'Well, I'd feel terrible if I stop you doing it.'"
Although Gary now prefers to keep his dating life to himself, in the summer of 2019 it was rumoured that Gary was in a relationship with chef Gizzi Erskine after the two were pictured partying together at All Points East festival. However, Gary and Gizzi's representatives denied any claims, stating: "There is no relationship."
In an interview with theDaily Starearlier this year, the England legend confirmed: “I’m happy being single now. It’s nice to be unanswerable in a slightly selfish way and I’m not actively seeking a partner right now.
“I had two wonderful marriages and now I’m single and I’m in a good place, but that might change. I might need someone to change my nappies. Who knows?
