Reality TV legend Gemma Collins has once again proven there’s no challenge too great for the GC herself, as she opted to take on a brand new job that is a far cry from her usually glamorous lifestyle.
The 42 year old star, who is best known to fans for having shot to fame on The Only Way Is Essex, swapped her pampered celebrity lifestyle for an apron and hat as she got stuck into a new role with Papa John’s pizza chain.
The blonde bombshell delighted customers this week as she served up slice after slice of the brand’s trademark pizza in a bold career move that is world’s away from her usual showbiz lifestyle.
Gemma also made history with the brand as she was crowned the pizza’s chain’s first ever “Head of Cheese” making her an iconic and long standing part of the brand’s impressive history.
Yet while Gemma wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty and clearly enjoyed herself while making a variety of mouth watering pizzas, she still managed to maintain her trademark look as she worked her new “job” while sporting a full face of makeup, complete with false lashes.
Tying her hair back for the occasion, the star appeared to be in her element as she worked a shift for the brand’s London store, much to the delight of customers who were shocked to see her in such a down to earth role.
Commenting on the break from her usual day to day grind, The Sun reports Gemma said: "Listen darlings, there’s no challenge The GC can’t rise to, so when Papa Johns asked me to be their new Head of Cheese I was just dying to get a slice of the action.
"I’m making sure their pizzas are totally OTT and fabulous, and giving all their lovely customers some extra cheesy service while I’m at it.”
The brand itself also couldn’t help but be impressed by Gemma’s skills, as a spokesperson for the company wrote: “Gemma's decision to join our Papa Johns family as the Head of Cheese is a milestone moment for us.”
The lighthearted break from her usual glamorous persona came at a particularly stressful time for the star, as her mother Joan was recently rushed to hospital.
Earlier this week, Gemma shared a snap of her mum with tubes coming out of her nose to help her breathe after her health took a turn for the worst.
Thankfully, Joan now appears to be on the mend, with Gemma later thanking the hospital treating her mother for their hard work and dedication to helping her feel better.
Speaking to her fans, Gemma said: “Such a scary moment when mum come to hospital. Thank you queens hospital Romford for all your doing.”
She added: “Love your parents as hard as you can. Thank you to everyone looking after mum @joancollins1 at QUEENS HOSPITAL ROMFORD.”
In a further dose of good news, it was revealed on Sunday that Joan had been released from hospital and was recovering at home with her family.
