Georgia Harrison ‘stands with victims’ as Stephen Bear jailed over revenge porn

Georgia Harrison said she “stands in solidarity” with other victims of revenge porn after her ex Stephen Bear was jailed for sharing a sex video of her online.

The former Love Island star, 28, gave an emotional speech outside court on Friday (3 March) saying she has “no regrets” about waiving her right to anonymity in the trial and speaking out in support of other victims of similar crimes.

Her ex-boyfriend Stephen, 33, received a jail sentence of 21 months after filming a video of the then couple having sex and sharing it online, without Georgia’s knowledge or consent.

Outside court, Georgia said that she was “happy and relieved that this matter is finally over”.

She said: “I want to let all other victims of this crime know that I stand in solidarity with them and I have absolutely no regrets on waiving my anonymity.

“I hope that this puts anyone off committing this sort of crime and I hope for anyone else who has been victim of it [that] it gives them some sort of justice.”

At a jury trial in December, Stephen, who found fame on MTV's Ex on the Beach, was found guilty on two counts of revenge porn and one count of voyeurism.

Today the reality TV star was sentenced to 21 months in jail and has been ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for ten years.

A restraining order was also handed down that prevents Stephen contacting Georgia for five years.

The court heard how ex-roofer Stephen and reality star Georgia were captured having sex on CCTV cameras in Stephen’s garden on August 2 2020.

Jacqueline Carey KC, prosecuting, told an earlier trial that the pair had consensual sex at his home in Loughton, Essex, but Georgia did not know they were being recorded.

Georgia said that when Stephen showed her the footage she told him “never to send” it to anyone and “made it plain how upset she would be if he did”, the prosecutor said.

The complainant said that she saw Stephen send the footage to someone on WhatsApp later that day, and later that year she was made aware that it was circulating online.

Ms Carey said that Stephen uploaded the footage “either himself or had it uploaded to OnlyFans and profited financially”.

Judge Christopher Morgan, sentencing, said the defendant “wished to exploit the economic value of the recording” of Stephen and Georgia having sex.

“I’m sure that you recognised the enhanced economic value to you by having Georgia Harrison, a well-known reality TV and social media personality, in the video,” the judge said.

He said Stephen caused Georgia “extensive humiliation and embarrassment”.

The judge further said Stephen “verbally abused” Georgia when she told him to delete it and falsely claimed online the video was of another woman.

He said: “You were trying to bully her into withdrawing her complaint and when that was exposed as a lie you sought to blame her, claiming she had shared it with others. You also attempted to lay blame at the door of the person you employed to upload video material to Only Fans.

“Georgia Harrison has confirmed in her victim personal statement and in court today the extensive humiliation and embarrassment that she has been caused.

"The harm is very great in terms of her emotional health and reputation. Her future employment prospects have been seriously affected – there’s no doubt about that.

"She has waived her anonymity in order to speak out about offences of this nature and harm caused and in so speaking out she has had to relive the humiliation and embarrassment she felt. She has spoken with great dignity and courage."
