Fred Sirieix has claimed his Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip co-stars, Gordon Ramsay and Gino D’Acampo, were “at loggerheads” during filming of the show. The First Dates star described himself as the “peacemaker” of the famous trio, in new claims that come after Gino announced he was quitting.
Speaking candidly about their working relationship while travelling together, Fred admitted he was often stuck in the middle of the celebrity chefs.
He told the Daily Star: “Well the problem is Gordon is always right and Gino is never wrong, and that includes everything…
“So, when they get at loggerheads, I’m just right in the middle.
“I’m definitely the peacemaker, both on camera and off camera, and in the group chat it’s just insane.”
Since 2018, Gino, Gordon and Fred have embarked on an hilarious journey around the world exploring local culture and cuisine.
Across the three series, ITV viewers have seen the stars visit places such as Italy, France, Greece and America.
Along with the regular programme, fans of the show were treated to three Christmas specials, but now the future of the popular show is up in the air after Gino decided to leave.
The 46-year-old broke the news on social media where he explained he valued the friendship with Gordon and Fred more than arguments that started to arise over contract differences.
In a short video message, Gino explained he was telling his fans directly as he didn’t want the real reason to be misconstrued in any way.
He said: “Last week, I decided not to film any more Gordon, Gino and Fred Road Trips. The reason is simple, I mean nothing to do with Gordon or Fred, the friendship is very strong, we have known each other for many years.
“It’s just because we can’t get the dates together and sometimes when we do get the dates together sometimes they get changed and it causes a lot of problems for me because I have other stuff that I have to do.”
He continued: “Also, because contracts, contracts start to become very complicated then it becomes very stressful.
“I personally value the friendship with Gordon and Fred so much that I would rather the friendship than arguments with the contract.”
