The Grateful Dead is expanding their merch catalog with something new: watches courtesy of Nixon.
Launching today at nixon.com/gratefuldead, the new Grateful Dead x Nixon line comprises seven limited-edition watches. Each timepiece brings iconic Grateful Dead artwork — including the 13-point lightning bolt, the Dancing Bear and the Steal Your Face lighting skull — to five of Nixon’s best-selling watch styles. The result is a line of stylish, collectible watches with subtle nods to the legendary rock band (as Nixon puts it, “the dead is in the details”).
Starting off the collection is the Grateful Dead Time Teller. Coming in three varieties (each with a different piece of Deadhead artwork), these watches use both the gold and silver versions of Nixon’s minimalist Time Teller watch as a base. The Grateful Dead Light Wave, a sporty analog watch, boasts the classic red, grey and blue 13-point lightning bolt as its face, plus an eco-friendly recycled plastic construction and a solar-charging movement.

Next is the Grateful Dead Sentry Stainless Steel, which features a 3D Steal Your Face skull logo housed in a water-resistant 42-millimeter stainless steel case. The Grateful Dead Sentry Chrono slightly alters the Sentry Stainless with three 3D Steal Your Face subdials to create a six-hand chronograph.
The collaboration’s final piece, the Grateful Dead Diplomatic, introduces some premium specs: an automatic movement and water resistance up to 200 meters make it fit for real watch enthusiasts. Look closely and you’ll notice custom Grateful Dead numerical indices and psychedelic details housed in the watch’s beefy 46-millimeter case.
