Gymshark pulls Indiyah Polack for a chat following controversial Pretty Little Thing snub

Love Island fans have slammed controversial fashion retailer Pretty Little Thing for 'using' contestant Indiyah Polack for social media engagement before announcing they'd instead collaborated with her co-star Gemma Owen.

Numerous brands have since reached out to ITV2 favourite Indiyah, 23, however, offering the opportunity for a partnership after she was allegedly snubbed from the six-figure PLT deal, including globally-renowned activewear firm Gymshark.

The popular gym-wear company tweeted hotel-waitress-turned-reality-star Indiyah last night, teasing their keen interest in collaborating, writing, "hey @1ndiyah can we pull you for a chat?".

Gymshark's official Twitter account also had Indiyah fans excited when they later added, "Btw we already slid in the dm, we just wanna make sure she sees it".

Last month saw popular online seller Pretty Little Thing launch an online poll asking Love Island fans to 'vote' for the star they'd like to see them collaborating with.

The official PLT account asked viewers to tweet them using the hashtag #PLTdeal in order to vote for Indiyah, whilst asking followers to simply retweet a picture of dressage rider Gemma in order to pledge their vote for her – an significantly less time-consuming ordeal.

Despite this, Indiyah – who was noted for her sense of style while in the villa – still won the public poll after having received thousands of votes.

But it appears as though Pretty Little Thing already had a plan in place and 19-year-old Gemma was confirmed yesterday as the latest 'addition to the 'PLT family' – hailing her new venture as a 'dream come true'.

Enraged fans have hit out at the online retailer since the announcement was made for allowing the 'unfair' competition that saw Indiyah snubbed from the opportunity, despite the public voting for her.

One Love Island fan yesterday wrote, "Idk I just feel like Indiyah should have got the PLT deal considering she won in their poll over who should get a PLT deal," whilst another added, "Gemma getting the #PLT deal over Indiyah doesn’t sit right with me but my girl will prosper regardless".

A third tweeted the controversial fashion firm directly: "@OfficialPLT Ya'll weird!! After using indiyah for the likes! Ya'll chose this! What a joke! Hahaha!"

"Didn't Indiyah wear one of ya'll shirts and it sold out immediately after," a fourth added. "Dumb business move."

Another hit out, "This is so nasty I'm sorry they fully used Indiyah for some engagement".

Indiyah is yet to comment on the controversy.
