H.E.R., Celeste & More To Perform Oscar-Nominated Songs During Pre-Show

H.E.R. and Celeste are among the musicians set to perform during a 90-minute pre-show, “Oscars: Into the Spotlight,” billed as “the lead-in” to the 93rd annual Academy Awards, on Sunday (April 25).

The producers of the awards, Jesse Collins, Stacey Sher and Steven Soderbergh announced that H.E.R., Celeste, Leslie Odom, Jr., Laura Pausini, Daniel Pemberton, Molly Sandén and Diane Warren will perform the five nominated original songs in their entirety at the pre-show.

Four of the performances will be pre-recorded at the Dolby Family Terrace of the new Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, and one will be recorded from Iceland, the producers said.

H.E.R. will perform “Fight for You” from Judas and the Black Messiah, while Celeste and Pemberton will perform “Hear My Voice” from The Trial of the Chicago 7.

The pre-show, to be hosted by actors Ariana DeBose and Lil Rel Howery, will air at 6:30 p.m. ET/3.30 p.m. PT. The main Oscar telecast will begin at 8 p.m. ET.
