Halle Berry, 56, has become one of the latest celebrities to react to their blue tick being removed by Twitter, with the actress making a hilarious swipe at the social media platform.
The Catwoman star took to the site yesterday to retweet a post by Twitter’s official verified account that announced the move was coming into play and urged entities interested in retaining the blue tick to pay for the service.
Quote-tweeting the message, Halle shared a video of herself strutting into a TV studio, adding: “Me joining you all tomorrow unverified,” alongside a smiley emoji.
In a follow-up tweet, Halle continued to make fun of the situation by sharing a meme, and a caption with just two laughing emojis.
The picture showed Dexter – from the Cartoon Network children’s show Dexter’s Laboratory – crying as he looked at a screenshot of Halle Berry’s Twitter profile back when it featured the blue badge.
Amused fans of the Hollywood star replied to the tweet joining in on the joke, and offering her “a shoulder to cry on”.
Twitter user MichaelBucwa said: “I feel your pain. your emotions and feelings are valid. you will find happiness and peace soon. believe it.
“If you ever need a friend to talk to SOUL to SOUL, just know that I am here for you. Feel free to reach out if you ever need a shoulder to cry on.”
SanjayBDalal added: “Welcome to the commoners club Halle. (although I am one of those commoners who shelled out money for an annual verification badge because that was the only way for me to get verified)”
YSMAC_ quipped: “you’re catwoman tho so you need no badge.” (sic)

Under the new policy, posts from free accounts will not be included in the “For you” stream of recommended tweets.
It comes after the company said it would get rid of the verified status of some “legacy” accounts.
Legacy accounts, or accounts with a blue tick, featured before Musk snapped up the firm in a multi-billion-dollar acquisition.
But the Twitter Blue feature introduced by Musk allows anybody to acquire a blue check mark for a monthly or yearly subscription.
Blue Tick verification currently costs $7 (£5.70) a month and gives the user access to additional features, but the badge was previously given for free to notable accounts belonging to typically high-profile individuals, celebrities, institutions, politicians or members of the media.
