Harry and Meghan release unseen photo after being missed out of King portrait

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been unveiled in a newly released photo taken of the couple behind the scenes of their UK visit last month — just two days after King Charles's new portrait with Prince William was released.

Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, are seen in a candid moment holding hands as they were captured before they took the stage together at the One Young World Summit in Manchester on September 5.

The striking photos was shot and shared on Instagram by the pair’s favoured photographer Missan Harriman, who previously photographed Meghan pregnant with daughter Lilibet and on her first birthday.

The images project a powerful union between the couple.

In the first of portrait released, Meghan is pictured front-facing the camera in a bold red ensemble of a tie-neck blouse and matching trousers, holding hands with Harry, who is dressed in a sharp black suit.

The couple are flashing complementing smiles at their first official UK event together since their move to the US in 2020.

In a second new photo shared of the couple, Harry and Meghan are pictured looking to the stage while still holding hands as they waited to be called in front of the audience at the Summit.

“The Duke & Duchess of Sussex moments before attending the opening ceremony of @OneYoungWorld last month,” Missan captioned.

Harry and Meghan’s European trip was taken mere days before the Queen died on September 8, and they were reunited with the Royal Family for the National Period of Mourning and Her Majesty’s Funeral.

The candid photos of the couple have been released just after the first official portrait of King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla, standing beside the new Prince and Princess of Wales.

Charles, 73, is pictured in the centre of the portrait next to his eldest son, as the foursome are seen smiling in matching black attire, marking a new dynamic for the Royal Family.

The portrait shows a clear message of change moving forward for the British monarchy and personally for the family, as Harry and Meghan were noticeably not included in the picture.

Harry and Meghan have certainly overshadowed the royal portrait with the release of their new photos, which portrays just as powerful a message of unity outside of the Royal Family.
