Prince Harry has been spotted atKing Charles III’s coronation ahead of the 11am ceremony which will take place later this morning.
The youngest son of the new king was spotted smiling as he headed into Westminster Abbey, walking into the church alongside his cousins Princess Beatrice and Eugenie as they chatted away to one another.
Dressed for the occasion, the Duke Of Sussex didn't let the British rain get him down, after touching down solo in London from his home of Los Angeles – without wife Meghan Markle.
Walking into the abbey with his family, viewers watching live on BBC One could see Harry take his seat alongside Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank.
Beginning at 11am, after a two hour service – reduced from the huge three hour Coronation that the late Queen had 70 years ago in 1953 – the newly crowned King and Queen will return to the Palace.
Harry’s appearance at his father’s coronation comes just weeks after it wasconfirmed that he would be attending though his wife Meghan would not, as the former actress remains at home with their two children.
Following much speculation, Buckingham Palace announced that the Duke of Sussex would travel to London for the historic occasion while Meghan would remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Announcing the news, the Palace released a statement that read: “Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May.
“The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”
While reasons for the decision have not been confirmed, today is also the couple's eldest son Prince Archie's fourth birthday, which could be the reason for Meghan's decision to stay in the US with the children.
But though Harry is attending the coronation alone,King Charles appeared to pay tribute to his youngest son’s family in the official souvenir for his coronation which was released last month.
Among the photos printed in the programme, which went on sale on April 17 is one of the royal family celebrating Charles, then the Prince Of Wales's 70th birthday back in 2018.
In the photo, Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort can be seen joined by Princes William and Harry as well as Kate and Meghan.
Also in the family photograph are Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Despite Harry flying all the way from the US for his father’s coronation, one royal expert told OK! that althoughhe'll be present he will be "nowhere near" the Buckingham Palace balcony.
Speaking of his decision, historian and writer Tessa Dunlop said: “If you have Harry (on the balcony) then they would have to have everyone else.”
She later added that she believed Harry “won’t be anywhere near the balcony” and that instead only working and key royals will secure a slot.
